Have you spent hours upon hours searching for that film to fully allow you to spend the next couple hours in a totally different world? Like that one film that can truly allow you to escape and live out your adventures? Well, in this day and age, it is quite hard to find. We sadly no longer have the Lawrence of Arabia's and the Casablanca's. Even the Indiana Jones' films are no more new. But what if I told you that I'd recently stumbled across a little gem that everyone can enjoy, and truly does put the adventure back into our senses again?
The film is Nim's Island. And yes, I know what you're thinking, I too thought it would have no relevance for adults. But in actuality, it was just what I needed. It really is an adventure story in the purest form. It has witty characters that we can't help but like, and beyond gorgeous locations that we can't help but want to search around the internet for the next best plane tickets to go there.
Jodie Foster is always amazing, and does not disappoint in this one. She's the perfect quirky character that we all just can't help but identify with, at least a little bit.
This truly is a film to remind us of why we like the movies so much. It took me back to my days when I was younger and so often dreamt of having that amazing adventurous life. It's what movies are all about, us being able to escape to better times for a small moment in time. And it's always good to remember our hopeful ideals of when we were younger.
Nim's Island is perfect if you're looking for that little adventure in life.
